CEF Fundraising Dinner in London

On November 26th. 2025, the Cyprus Environment Foundation (CEF), celebrated three years of nature conservation at Brother Marcus Restaurant, in Soho, London. The event was held under the auspices of the UK Cyprus Enterprise Council (UKCEC) and the Conservation Collective (CC) and was attended by members of CEF’s and CC’s teams as well as friends and supporters of CEF.

The event initiated with introductory speeches by Tasos Gaitanos, co-founder of Brother Marcus Restaurants welcoming guests and expressing his enthusiasm to support CEF’s mission to protect the natural environment of Cyprus. Andreas Kyriacou, member of the mentioned how supporting CEF’s work right from the start was priority for UKCEC and how the board wishes to extend this support for the years to come. CEF’s executive director, Sofia Matsi, talked about the Foundation’s success stories so far and how stepping up on efforts that help raise vital funds are much needed to help tackle pressing environmental challenges on the island. Ben Goldsmith, founder of the Cyprus Environment Foundation and member of CEF’s Steering Committee inspired the attendees with his words sharing: ‘How everywhere you look there are brilliant, passionate people working to create positive environmental change and with modest sums of money this can help supercharge their work on the ground.’

Guests enjoyed a festive feast menu inspired by Eastern Mediterranean with flavorful and colorful dishes including roasted beetroot houmous, crispy aubergine skewers with grape molasses and pomegranate roasted lamb with cous cous.

During the evening, CEF announced the kick-start of a prize draw campaign running until December 17th, 2025 with the aim of raising more funds for Cyprus nature. The prize draws are generously provided by CEF’s supporters, including accommodations to luxury Cyprus hotels and meals and wine tasting experiences in London and Cyprus.
