TUI Field to Fork Cyprus:  Launch of the Regenerative Agriculture Training Program

The first training session of the Regenerative Agriculture (RA) Training Program for Farmers took place successfully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation in Nicosia. The  RA training program is part of the TUI Field to Fork Cyprus project, aiming to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply RA methods effectively.

More than 80 participants attended the event, including farmers, academics, and representatives from various departments of the Ministry of Agriculture. The session attracted significant interest as new techniques and practices were introduced, highlighting the benefits of RA. A total of six open training sessions will be conducted between January and June 2025, led by a highly experienced network of trainers and experts. The TUI Field to Fork Cyprus project responds to the urgent need of adopting more sustainable agricultural practices in Cyprus. The project is implemented by the Cyprus Environment Foundation in collaboration with KES College, Christos Stelios Ioannou Foundation,  Tourythm, and Valerga and with the support of the TUI Care Foundation. The project’s actions focus on the adoption of Regenerative Agriculture (RA) by promoting the application of farming practices that protect the environment, maintain and regenerate soil health, mitigate the impacts of climate change and contribute to carbon sequestration.

The program aims to address current gabs in organic and RA production and the distribution of its products in Cyprus by: (i) enabling training programs for local new and existing farmers, (ii) facilitating the creation of synergies between regeneratively farmed produce and the hospitality sector and (iii) incorporating people with disabilities within the program’s activities.

Moreover, the program is offering €4,000/scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year within the “Organic Products Production Technician” study program at KES College. This opportunity is aimed at young individuals seeking to develop skills in organic farming and regenerative agriculture. Interested candidates can apply via the official application form here.
